Science at Bloom Alternative Provision
Personalised 1 to 1 science sessions every Friday with the service users of Bloom Alternative Provision.
What it's for
Bloom Alternative Provision is a small, nurturing setting in Aylesbury supporting young people who may find mainstream education difficult to access.
My Friday science sessions are designed to give learners a personalised and engaging way to explore science in a setting that supports their individual needs.
Who it's for
Bloom supports young people aged 11 to 16 who struggle within mainstream education. This can include learners with social, emotional and mental health needs, emotionally based school non-attendance, anxiety, disengagement, ADHD and autism.
What to expect
I will be on site every Friday delivering science lessons with Bloom service users.
Lessons will be based around the interests of each learner. The learner will choose their topic a week in advance, giving them autonomy over what they would like to explore.
At Lessons With Marie, my ethos around education is that once a learner has autonomy over their learning, wonderful things can happen.
The learning space
We have full use of the Bloom space, including two halls, a kitchen and a park. This gives learners the opportunity to explore science through practical activities in a variety of environments.

Sessions are adapted to the needs and interests of each learner. Learners have autonomy over their lessons and choose the areas of science they would like to explore.
